During difficult financial times, families struggle to make ends meet and rely on food banks to supplement their food source. Family pets also suffer and do not get proper care and nutrition. Many are surrendered to animal shelters. This causes overcrowded shelters and increases the number of pets euthanized.
Our mission is to help reduce the number of companion animals surrendered to local shelters and help keep families & their pets together.
Best Buddies Pet Pantry is an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit and pet food bank that provides free pet food assistance to families & pets in need in central Florida. It is in its 11th year of service (10 years in NW Indiana) and operates as a mobile pantry, delivering pet food to distribution sites. The pantry also provides pet supplies and cat litter when available, and information for low-cost spay/neuter service and vaccines.
